By now, all you lovely crazy people who read my blog, must be aware of my near obsession with the soul and its strange ways, the world of dreams and other unexplainable stuff which are either more or less than the ordinary. Well, one such favourite is the soul music of Dr Zhivago (Lara's Theme). And the scene where Lara is going away. Just so soul stirring.... Please find time to see this Youtube clipping and listen to the music. It will refresh your soul. A true stress buster in today's world ridden with worries, targets and shutdown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXAa0XaS6bs
I have been trying my darndest to download the video, but something is stopping its download.
The composer of this music, Maurice Jarre recently died. This post is, in a sense a salute to him. Such rare compositions sometimes make life worthwhile.... And yes, don't forget to tell me all about it! Ciao and have a soulful weekend.

Lara's theme....my all time fav.
Just love the lyrics....
Somewhere, my love, there will be songs to sing
Although the snow covers the hopes of Spring
Somewhere a hill blossoms in green and gold
And there are dreams, all that your heart can hold
Someday we'll meet again, my love
Someday whenever the Spring breaks through
You'll come to me out of the long-ago
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow
Till then, my sweet, think of me now and then
Godspeed, my love, till you are mine again
Someday we'll meet again, my love
I said "someday whenever that Spring breaks through"
You'll come to me out of the long-ago
Warm as the wind, and as soft as the kiss of snow
Till then, my sweet, think of me now and then
Godspeed, my love, till you are mine again!
Hey sis! thanks a ton. I had never paid much heed to the lyrics till now! I used to get mesmerised by teh tune itself. Thanks for presence of mind to key in the lyrics as well. Makes this post so much richer...
No probs!
Have never been one with an ear for serious music...but yes, some good lyrics sure catch my fancy.
Same goes for my son too....he loves the words/meanings/nuances of the songs he stores in his ipod and forces me to listen to them just to appreciate the thoughts expressed in them! So different from normal teenagers, na?
Your son is a creed apart. But teenagers these days are so sensitive. They are much more mature than we ever can be. At their age, we were such dodos! The lyrics are so heartbreakingly beautiful. Only hope they come true! sigh!
